Quality NHS Dental Treatment at Hangleton Dental Practice

We want everyone to be able to access the best possible quality of dental care and we want you to be able to show off your smile because you deserve it. It is for this reason that we offer various tooth restoration treatments for patients who fall under both NHS and private treatment categories.

NHS Services at Hangleton Dental Practice

At Hangleton Dental Practice, we will devise a treatment plan which includes an estimated cost to be discussed with you. This treatment plan will also include information on any NHS dental care entitlements you can claim. The goal of the NHS is for everyone to be able to easily access excellent dental care.

Since you are not tied to a catchment area you don’t have to register with our dental practice the same way as you would with a GP. If Hangleton Dental Practice is convenient for you, you can get in touch with us to book an appointment. Usually, we should be able to accommodate you but if we are unable to at that time, we can always see you as a private patient.

NHS Treatment and Charges at Hangleton Dental Practice

If you are a regular NHS patient, one of our dentists will advise you as to the due date of your regular dental examination. Not everyone has the same time interval between treatments so the period of time you have to wait will depend on the NICE guidelines. Regardless of what it is, we will keep you informed about your recall cycle.

Just before your check-up is due, we will send a postal reminder – a practice we engage in as a courtesy to patients. Despite this, it remains your personal responsibility to make sure you see the dentist at the time you have been asked to. It is also your responsibility to ensure your course of treatment is completed in a timely manner.

In the event that you don’t establish contact with us within the first two months after the commencement of your treatment, this will be regarded as an incomplete course of treatment and we will no longer consider you a regular patient of Hangleton Dental Practice. In addition, we may not offer you any further NHS treatment.

Which Dental Treatments Are Available on the NHS?

Any clinically required treatment needed to keep your gums, teeth, and mouth healthy and safe from disease will be provided by the NHS. The dentist assigned to you at Hangleton Dental Practice will decide which treatment is best in the circumstances based on a formal clinical assessment.

We’ll let you know which treatments we can offer on the NHS, so you won’t ever have to deal with surprises. Where applicable, we will provide you with clear information regarding the cost of NHS treatments versus the cost of private treatment. In the event that you opt for one of our private treatment options, it will be included in a treatment plan which you will be asked to sign.

You have the right to ask the dentist you are working with about the details of the treatment options proposed. It is our duty to ensure that you feel well-informed before we commence a treatment. The clinical benefits and risks of any treatment option are important facts which you should know before any work is attempted.

We will provide you with a written treatment plan containing the proposed dental treatment and any costs involved. The treatment plan will include Band 2 or Band 3 treatments, and where applicable, a mix of NHS and private treatments. If you come in for urgent dental treatments or treatments that fall under Band 1, we may not give you a treatment plan. However, you are free to ask for one if you wish.

If there is ever any need to make changes to a proposed treatment, we will inform you of any such changes. Before changes are implemented, we will discuss them with you and if you agree with them, we will proceed with the treatment.
