Teeth Extractions

Brighton & Hove

A tooth extraction is the permanent removal of a tooth from its socket. Extraction is recommended when the tooth cannot be saved with other treatments such as root canal treatment and to prevent infection from spreading to other areas of your mouth.

If you are facing a tooth extraction, it can seem a little daunting and nerve-wracking. However, you don’t have to worry as our dentist take utmost care while doing a tooth extraction procedure.

Your dentist will numb the area with a local anesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I feel pain during a tooth extraction procedure?

Our highly trained team of dental professionals always ensure you are fully numb around the area where the tooth is being removed before starting the procedure. If at any point you feel any discomfort, we tend to immediately stop and reassess, sometimes we may just have to give slightly more anaesthetic!

Can I be put to sleep when having my tooth taken out?

This is certainly an option which you will have to be referred to hospital to have the procedure carried out under ‘General anaesthetic’. Although we find majority of our patients can happily manage to have the procedure carried out comfortably with sedation or even just a simple local anaesthetic.
